| MSC Rationalises Far East Europe Services | 16/12/2008 |
In a response to the deteriorating trading environment, MSC will suspend their Tiger Service, withdrawing 9 vessels of 6,500 TEUs capacity with immediate effect and as a result will make the following changes :
Jade Service : 9 ships of 9,500 to 11,500 TEUs Silk Service : 10 ships of 9,500 TEUs Dragon Service : 11 ships of 8,100 TEUs Lion Service : 10 ships of 6,500 to 8,100 TEUs Poenix Service : 10 ships of 6,500 TEUs
The direct call of Istanbul will be kept within Phoenix Service as same as Tiger Service.
Phoenix Rotation : Qingdao - Busan - Shanghai - Ningbo - Yantai - Nanasha - Chiwan - Hong Kong - Singapore - Jeddah - Beirut - Istanbul - Trieste - Gioia Tauro - Jeddah - Singapore - Qingdao.
The changes of these services remain to allow optimum port coverage from Asia to all the key markets in Europe and the Mediterranean insuring an excellent transit times via new increase feeder set up in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. This new setup will reduce MSC weekly space availibility on the route from the Far East to Europe/Mediterranean just by 2,000 TEUs.
